About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) form issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) with aerial ignition capabilities for prescribed fire operations. The FWC seeks eight new Astro UAS/IGNIS III mini ignition packages with strobes, six strobe upgrades for existing fleet systems, and one additional IGNIS II hopper for existing fleet systems. These drone-based systems will be used for prescribed fire ignition, surveillance, and monitoring and must be equipped with cameras, thermal infrared systems, and software capable of processing burn unit boundaries, ignition grid patterns, and transect layouts while allowing field adjustments and recording actual flight patterns. The systems must comply with Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2.0075 Tier III security methods and cannot interface with FWC networks, requiring data transfer through IT-approved removable media only. Prospective vendors had until September 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities. The contact for this procurement is Rachel Massey, Assistant Purchasing Director, at rachel.massey@myfwc.com or 850-510-9990.

The estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is $694,492. Drone Amplified, Inc. is identified as the intended single source supplier, as it has developed proprietary IGNIS technology, which is described as the only aerial ignition system capable of operating from an unmanned aerial system and meeting all legislative, security, and operational requirements specified by the FWC. Purchase prohibitions include restrictions on drones manufactured by entities domiciled in or controlled by Foreign Countries of Concern, and data storage must be restricted to the continental United States with no remote access permitted from outside this geographic area. Each system package includes a drone, landing gear, replacement propellers, transport cases, radio controller, four battery sets, two chargers, thermal/visual camera, gimbal, Remote ID module, ignition sphere dispenser, tablet, and strobe, along with on-site operator training.
