About this opportunity

The University of Texas at Tyler ("University") is seeking proposals from qualified parties for the license of space to operate a bookstore on its main campus. The University desires a bookstore operator that can provide quality products and services to the University community, while also maximizing the financial return to the University. The initial term of the license is ten (10) years, with the University having the right to renew for up to five (5) additional one (1) year terms. The University will evaluate proposals based on factors such as the cost of goods and services, the proposer's reputation and competence, the quality and variety of the products offered, the proposer's ability to meet the University's needs, the proposer's past relationship with the University, the total long-term cost and revenue, and the proposer's exceptions to the terms and conditions. Proposals are due by April 1, 2024.

The University has determined that subcontracting opportunities are not probable under this RFP, and a HUB Subcontracting Plan is not required. The University reserves the right to establish additional third-party contracts for various services on campus, including snack vending, food services, and an official ring program. The University will not consider a payment structure based on a percentage royalty directly tied to the sales of academic materials. The University has not provided any information about the incumbent vendor or the current contract value.
