About this file

This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by The University of Texas at Tyler ("University") for the selection of an operator to operate a University Campus Bookstore on the University's main campus. The University is seeking a qualified bookstore operator to provide the University community with quality, customer service, and fair product prices, while also maximizing the financial return to the University. The University is soliciting proposals for the license of space to operate the bookstore for an initial term of ten (10) years, with the University having the right to renew for up to five (5) additional one (1) year terms. The University currently has contracts with third-party providers for various services on campus, including snack vending, food services, and an official ring program, and reserves the right to establish additional third-party contracts.

The proposal evaluation will be based on factors such as the cost of goods and services, the proposer's reputation and competence, the quality and variety of the products offered, the proposer's ability to meet the University's needs, the proposer's past relationship with the University, the total long-term cost and revenue, and the proposer's exceptions to the terms and conditions. The University will not consider a payment structure based on a percentage royalty directly tied to the sales of academic materials. The University has determined that subcontracting opportunities are not probable under this RFP, and a HUB Subcontracting Plan is not required.
