About this opportunity
The City of Roswell, Georgia is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to update its Unified Development Code and conduct a supplemental evaluation of existing Design Guidelines, with proposals due August 12, 2022.
The primary scope is a comprehensive UDC update incorporating seventy-six text amendments adopted since the 2014 original adoption, aligned with the City's 2040 Comprehensive Plan and 2021–2025 Strategic Plan. Project details and specific requirements are contained in the Evaluation of the Existing Design Guidelines Project document referenced in the solicitation.
Opportunity text
The City of Roswell is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to update the City's Unified Development Code (UDC). In 2014, the City adopted its first Unified Development Code. Between the first and second reading of the 2014 document, there were numerous changes made to the code prior to the official adoption. Since the adoption of the UDC in 2014, there have been seventy-six (76) text amendment changes to the code. The Comprehensive Plan, and any subsequent amendments adopted by Mayor and Council during the course of this contract will serve as the basis for the changes and additions to the UDC. In addition, the City adopted a Strategic Plan (2021 - 2025), which includes a vision, mission, values, goals, key objectives, and implementation tasks to guide decision-making. The City of Roswell desires to produce updated development regulations, which are easily understood by administrators, the public and the development community. These updated development regulations will also support the goals and policies of the City of Roswell's 2040 Comprehensive Plan and other related long-range planning documents that have been adopted. Roswell's focus is to establish clear, responsible development regulations with design criteria that will provide opportunities for innovative and new approaches to development while also supporting and sustaining an economically viable community. The City of Roswell is requesting a supplemental proposal from qualified consultants to complete a thorough evaluation of the existing UDC Design Guidelines to determine conflicting guidelines and items that may be outdated or duplicated in other adopted or approved documents. The project details and requirements for this project are included in the Evaluation of the Existing Design Guidelines Project document.
