About this opportunity
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking wholesale distributors to provide unbranded, unprinted apparel items for its UT Print shop through a request for proposal (RFP) process. The procurement is specifically for wholesale apparel that will not incorporate any artwork, as all customization will be handled internally by the university's print shop. This solicitation supports the print shop's services for faculty, staff, students, administrators, and the community, including screen printing and embroidery capabilities. The RFP (Reference Number 745-26-B02) is open for responses, with proposals due by January 9, 2026. Importantly, the university explicitly states there is no guarantee of volume or minimum/maximum order commitment for the selected vendor(s). Potential bidders must carefully review all attached documents, including the Bidder Questionnaire, Terms and Conditions, and various required forms such as the HUB HSP and Bidder Affirmation documents.
The solicitation appears to have a strong focus on Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) participation, as evidenced by the HUB HSP document included in the bid package. While specific set-aside percentages are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the presence of the HUB documentation suggests potential preferences or requirements for minority or disadvantaged business enterprise participation. No specific incumbent vendors are mentioned, and no precise budget range is provided. The university notes that this is an as-needed procurement without guaranteed volume, which suggests flexibility for potential vendors. Interested wholesale apparel distributors must be prepared to provide high-quality, unbranded clothing items that can be subsequently customized by the UT Print shop. Vendors should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to meet the university's potential needs across various apparel types and quantities, understanding that actual orders may vary significantly.
