About this opportunity
Trenton Public Schools in Michigan is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure fitness and strength equipment for Trenton High School's weight room facility. The procurement encompasses two equipment categories: cardio equipment and strength training equipment. The cardio category includes five Woodway Curve non-motorized treadmills, five Woodway Curve Trainer treadmills, one Stairmaster HIIT bike, ten Octane Airdyne Pro bikes, five Sports Art upright bikes, eight Concept 2 rowers, four Stairmaster 8 series machines, and five Octane XT-3700 ellipticals. The strength equipment category comprises Dynamic power racks, storage uprights, functional trainers, lat pull machines, benches, dumbbells ranging from 5 to 75 pounds, Olympic plates, bars, kettlebells, resistance bands, plyo-boxes, TRX suspension trainers, and specialized training equipment to be installed in a renovated pool area measuring approximately 55' x 40' with additional raised deck sections. Bidders may respond to one or both equipment categories but must provide complete bids for each selected category and demonstrate at least five years of successful experience with work of equal or better quality. The District requires vendors to provide delivery, installation, and maintenance services, along with a minimum 24-month warranty from the date of final acceptance and two training sessions for cardio equipment and two four-hour sessions for strength equipment. All pricing must include freight, taxes, delivery, setup, installation, warranty, logo setup, insurance, and debris disposal. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 26, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Trenton Administrative Board Room, with sealed bids due by 1:00 p.m. on May 3, 2021, to be publicly opened at that time. The Board of Education will consider award recommendations on May 10, 2021, with equipment installation scheduled for August 16, 2021.
The District does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting response to particular types of organizations based on disadvantaged enterprise status or other classifications. All bidders must submit sworn and notarized statements disclosing any familial relationships with Board members or the superintendent in compliance with Michigan Compiled Law 380.1267 and provide certification of non-Iran-linked business status under Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012. The District requires comprehensive insurance coverage including Worker's Compensation with $1,000,000 employer's liability limits, Comprehensive General Liability with $1,000,000 combined single limits per occurrence, and Automobile Liability with $1,000,000 combined single limits. All installation personnel, including subcontractors working on-site for more than one continuous week, must undergo criminal history and background checks completed within one year of project start. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and may award the contract to other than the low bidder for reasons of uniformity, delivery time, or preference, although it intends to award to the lowest qualified bidder. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the available procurement documents.
