About this opportunity

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Finger Lakes Region is requesting bids for tree felling and cleanup at Taughannock Falls State Park, with bids due December 11, 2025 and a mandatory site visit on December 2 at 11:00 a.m. Bidders who fail to attend the site visit and sign the attendance sheet will have their bids returned; no exceptions are made.

The scope divides into two separate bid packages: felling of marked trees (Blocks 1, 2, and 3) and cleanup of felled material (Blocks 1, 2, and 3), allowing the state to prioritize awards by block. Felling work requires safe removal of trees along powerlines, roadways, and neighboring properties, with logs cut to a maximum 10-foot length and stumps cut to 6 inches above grade. Some trees require bucket truck or lift access. Cleanup encompasses removal of all brush and wood; no on-site dumping is permitted, and any chipped material must be hauled away. If cleanup is not awarded to the felling contractor, the felling contractor remains responsible at its own expense for removing any trees or brush that fall on roadways, drainage ditches, powerline rights-of-way, or neighboring property.

Access to some trees requires work on neighboring property; contractors are fully responsible for repairing any disturbance and restoring the property to its original condition at their own expense. Contractors must provide a Commercial General Liability Certificate to both the Inn At Taughannock and the State of New York, Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Award is based on lowest Grand Total Cost. The state reserves the right to make award in whole or in part at its sole discretion.
