About this file

This is an Amendment 1 to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Finger Lakes Region, for tree felling and cleanup services at Taughannock Falls State Park. The project involves the removal and safe felling of marked trees located along powerlines, roadways, and neighboring properties, with logs to be cut to a maximum length of 10 feet and stumps cut to 6 inches above grade. The work is divided into separate bid packages: Felling of trees (Blocks 1, 2, and 3) and Cleanup of trees (Blocks 1, 2, and 3), allowing the state to prioritize awards by block. A mandatory site visit is required on December 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, and bidders who fail to attend and sign the attendance sheet will have their bids returned with no exceptions. The state reserves the right to make award in whole or in part at its sole discretion, with award determinations based on the lowest Grand Total Cost.

Contractors must provide a Commercial General Liability Certificate to both the Inn At Taughannock and the State of New York, Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Access to some trees requires work on neighboring property, and contractors are fully responsible for repairing any property disturbance and restoring it to its original condition at their own expense. There is no on-site dumping permitted; if chipping is performed, materials must be hauled away. If the cleanup portion is not awarded to the felling contractor, the felling contractor remains responsible for removing any trees or brush that fall on roadways, drainage ditches, powerline rights-of-way, or neighboring property at no additional cost to the state.
