About this opportunity
The California Department of Consumer Affairs, specifically the California Acupuncture Board (CAB), is seeking statewide transcription, translation, and onsite interpretation services through Invitation for Bid (IFB) number ACUP-16-02. The procurement aims to support the board's enforcement program by securing professional language services for criminal and administrative investigations. Specific services required include certified translation of written documents, onsite interpretation of oral testimony during interviews or court proceedings, and certified transcription and translation of audio recordings. The solicitation was posted on July 13, 2016, with an original due date of June 10, 2016 (which appears to be an administrative error). Potential vendors must carefully review the attached IFB document for comprehensive details about service requirements, submission guidelines, and technical specifications. The contract will enable the CAB to effectively investigate and potentially prosecute violations within the Acupuncture profession by ensuring accurate and legally admissible language services.
While the provided documentation does not explicitly outline set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the procurement appears to be a standard state contract opportunity open to qualified language service providers. No specific incumbent vendors or existing technology integration requirements are mentioned in the available materials. The attachment (IFB_ACUP-16-02.pdf) likely contains more detailed information about vendor qualifications, evaluation criteria, and potential contract value, which would require a thorough review of the full document. Given the statewide scope and the specialized nature of the required services, prospective bidders should possess professional certifications in translation, interpretation, and transcription, with particular expertise in legal and investigative contexts. The contract's potential value and duration are not specified in the summary information, suggesting that interested vendors would need to consult the complete IFB document for comprehensive details about the contract's financial and temporal parameters.
