About this opportunity
The Town of Georgetown, located in Clear Creek County, Colorado, is seeking proposals for Phase 5 of the Strousse Park Refresh Project, specifically focusing on parking lot renovation and paving. The project involves renovating a parking lot at the intersection of Rose Street and 5th Street, encompassing approximately 4,725 square feet with an additional 1,050 square feet access corridor. Key deliverables include complete excavation and removal of existing sub-surface material, installation of a new sub-base and surface layer using crushed stone, final grading and compaction, and installation of twelve concrete wheel stops. Contractors must submit comprehensive proposals by 5:00 pm on July 7, 2025, including detailed material specifications, quantities, pricing, payment terms, insurance certificates, and professional references. The project has strict constraints requiring contractors to maintain downtown accessibility during major events such as the Plein Air Art Event, Gold Rush and Rubber Duck Race, Bighorn Sheep Festival, Tree Lighting, and Christmas Market. The work is expected to commence on July 8th, 2025, and must be completed prior to the Tree Lighting event in November 2025.
While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the documentation, contractors must demonstrate robust capabilities in parking lot renovation and urban infrastructure projects. The Request for Proposal requires comprehensive insurance documentation and professional references to validate contractor qualifications. Although a precise budget range was not specified, the project appears to be a municipal infrastructure improvement initiative with moderate complexity. Contractors are expected to provide options for chip-seal paving and must demonstrate an ability to work in a sensitive downtown environment while maintaining safety and minimizing disruption to local businesses and community events. The project represents the final phase of a multi-year park revitalization effort that began in 2021, with previous phases including restroom construction, shelter installation, sub-surface infrastructure development, and landscape improvements.
