About this opportunity

The Macon Water Authority is seeking sealed bids for the Town Creek Reservoir Dam Down Drain Repairs project located in Bibb County, Georgia. The procurement involves comprehensive dam infrastructure rehabilitation, including installing erosion and sediment perimeter control best management practices, repairing the right abutment drain, and reconstructing the existing down drain system. Specific project deliverables include excavating existing drain systems, establishing new subgrade with drain material, installing a new 16-inch HDPE down drain with concrete headwall, backfilling and compacting soil, and re-establishing turf in disturbed areas. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 29, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Amerson Water Treatment Plant, with all bidder questions required to be submitted by 10:00 A.M. on August 5, 2025. The final bid submission deadline is August 12, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., with bids to be publicly opened and read aloud at the Macon Water Authority's Human Resources Training Room. Bidders must request complete contract documents from the engineer, Freese and Nichols, to be eligible to submit a bid.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidder types were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. Interested contractors will need to obtain the full bid package directly from Freese and Nichols via email at max.bloom@freese.com, with no partial document sets to be issued. While a specific budget range was not provided, the project involves substantial infrastructure repair and reconstruction work that would likely require specialized civil engineering and dam rehabilitation expertise. The procurement is open to qualified contractors capable of executing complex water infrastructure repair projects, with an emphasis on precise drain system reconstruction and environmental restoration. Potential bidders should have demonstrated experience in municipal water infrastructure projects, erosion control, and specialized dam maintenance techniques. The project's technical complexity suggests a potentially significant contract value, though exact budget parameters are not specified in the available documentation.
