About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation is requesting bids for two 32-foot office trailers with a bid due date of October 26, 2007, and electronic submission required through the State's secure response system.
Each trailer must be 8 feet wide with dual-axle frame and brakes, divided into two offices (approximately 7'4" by 9'4" and 7'4" by 17'10"), each with exterior entrance doors, individual air-conditioning units, and a minimum of two windows. Construction specifications include insulation, flooring, exterior and interior wall materials, roofing, 100-amp electrical service, heating and cooling units, LED exterior lighting with seven-wire round plug connection for tow vehicles, and furnished desks, file cabinets, and adjustable shelving. Vendors must submit detailed prints, brochures, specification sheets, and clearly document any exceptions to specifications. Shipping and delivery to Maine DOT Fleet Service in Augusta must be included in pricing.
The successful bidder must maintain parts inventory within Maine with 95 percent availability within 48 hours for general parts and 24-hour availability for expendable items such as filters and hoses. Manufacturer's standard warranty commences upon in-service date, and the successful bidder must place Maine DOT on recall notification and technical update mailing lists and provide manufacturer's manuals and parts lists at the time of bid.
The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10% and to reject any or all bids. Awards will be made on the basis of best value to the responsible bidder, considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and total cost. All transportation charges must be prepaid and included in pricing. Tie bids will be resolved by awarding to Maine in-state bidders or manufacturers of products made in Maine. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State taxes, so bidders must quote prices excluding these. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining final bid price.
