About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation is requesting bids on one 18-foot utility trailer with bids due October 26, 2007. In-state bidders or those with products manufactured in Maine receive preference in the event of tie bids.
The trailer must be a tilt-bed tagalong model meeting Federal and Maine regulations, with a minimum 13,800-pound gross vehicle weight rating, tandem axles with electric brakes, deck height not exceeding 20 inches, LED lighting with seven-pole round connectors, 235/80R 16 load range E tires with matching spare, oil seal hubs, break-away protection system, and 3-inch pintle eye hitch with 7-inch vertical adjustment. The unit must be painted blue with rust-proof lead-free primer. All bid items must be manufacturer's current or 2007 listed stock models in full compliance with applicable regulations.
The bidder must demonstrate the ability to provide comprehensive parts and service support within Maine, with 95 percent parts availability within 48 hours and expendable items within 24 hours. The bid proposal must include a detailed parts and service availability proposal, complete parts list with manufacturer's part numbers, repair manuals, and paint code specification. The manufacturer's standard warranty applies and commences upon in-service date, with warranty terms and conditions to be stated in the bid.
All shipping and delivery costs to Maine DOT Fleet Service in Augusta are included in the bid price. Prices must be inclusive of all discounts and delivery to destination. The state is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes and should not be included in quotes. Awards will be made to the best value, responsible bidder based on quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Bidders must note any exceptions to specifications on a separate document submitted with the proposal.
