About this opportunity
The TGR Foundation has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for architectural services related to the transformation of the former Capitol View Elementary School located in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. The project involves comprehensive architectural and engineering services for converting the 1928 school building into the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta, which will require full interior transformation, exterior rejuvenation, and site work. The facility will encompass 48,843 square feet, including learning spaces such as adaptable classrooms, a makerspace, multimedia studio, auditorium, and indoor golf simulator, as well as administrative areas including staff work spaces, offices, and conference rooms. The selected Architectural and Engineering Consultant (AEC) must provide pre-construction and construction phase services, working closely with the project team to meet specified requirements within designated timelines and budget. Proposals are due by November 7, 2025, and interested firms must submit all materials to AtlantaRFP@tgrfoundation.org, with anticipated construction starting in August 2026 and full project completion expected by October 2027.
While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions were explicitly mentioned in the RFP, the project appears to be a significant redevelopment initiative targeting educational infrastructure improvements. The procurement does not indicate limitations on firm size, ownership, or vendor classification. The project budget and potential contract value were not disclosed in the provided documentation, though the extensive scope of work suggests a substantial investment in transforming the historic school building. The project will require a qualified architectural firm with demonstrated experience in educational facility renovation, adaptive reuse of historic structures, and comprehensive design and engineering capabilities. Potential respondents should have proven expertise in creating flexible learning environments, integrating modern educational technology, and managing complex renovation projects within strict timeline and budgetary constraints.
