About this opportunity
Douglas County Schools in Georgia is procuring TextHelp's Read&Write for Google and EquatIO software (Chrome extensions and iOS apps) to support literacy and mathematics instruction, with a due date of February 15, 2022.
Read&Write delivers text-to-speech, word and picture definitions, Talk&Type predictive text, and related literacy-support tools for use in Google Docs, websites, and PDFs. EquatIO enables students to create and access mathematical content in digital environments. The tools are intended to supplement grade-level Tier One instruction for struggling students not adequately served by existing intervention programs such as Classworks, with the goal of improving content comprehension and student confidence.
An attached quote from Pioneer Valley Books dated November 15, 2021, references related Literacy Footprints classroom kits and Digital Reader subscriptions (93 Kindergarten, 41 Second Grade, and 14 Third Grade kits, plus 148 teacher and 3,700 student Digital Reader licenses) totaling $358,155 after a 10 percent discount on print materials and 100 percent discount on digital licenses. Opportunity text
Read&Write for Google/EquatIO are Google Chrome extensions and Apple iOS apps that provide support tools for Reading and Mathematics instruction in Google Docs, websites, and PDFs. Although many struggling students receive interventions through programs like Classworks, the students are not given tools to assist them in accessing the Tier One instruction that they are encountering on grade level every day. Read&Write helps students with tools that assist with literacy, such as reading text aloud, providing text and picture definitions of unknown words, and helping students to express themselves with Talk&Type and predictive text. EquatIO provides support in accessing and creating math in a digital environment. These tools will help learners to take control of their learning, aid their understanding of content, and build confidence in their abilities.
