About this opportunity
The City of Taylor, Michigan is requesting sealed bids for golf course netting and pole removal and installation services at Taylor Meadows Golf Course (25360 Ecorse Road, Taylor), with bids due September 29, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. via electronic submission or physical delivery to the City Clerk's Office. An Addendum #1 Revision has been issued.
The scope encompasses removal and replacement of safety netting at Hole #13 (approximately 15 poles, 40 feet above ground, spaced 50 feet apart) and removal of eleven existing poles at Hole #14. Contractors must provide all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, and disposal services. Site inspections are mandatory; contractors are responsible for verifying existing pole locations, netting dimensions, access routes, underground utilities, and soil conditions. Bidders may propose optional alternates for pole materials, netting types, or performance-enhancing alternatives priced separately from the base bid. Contractors must demonstrate experience with golf course safety netting and 40-foot-plus structures; preference may be given to those with documented experience in these areas.
Contractors must be City of Taylor approved vendors prior to bid opening and must carry general liability insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence; $2,000,000 aggregate), automobile liability coverage ($1,000,000 combined single limit), and workers' compensation insurance with minimum employers' liability limits of $100,000 each accident. All carriers must hold an A.M. Best rating of A-, VII or better, with the City named as additional insured. A bid surety of 5 percent of the total project price is required. Submission must include three relevant project references, proof of applicable licenses and certifications, a Certificate of Insurance, W9 form, and proposed project schedule with mobilization and completion dates.
The contract term is one year from execution with no renewal or extension options. Delivery must occur within five business days of purchase order issuance. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Questions are due September 22, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Bid opening is scheduled September 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at City Council Chambers.
