About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on tape drives with a due date of November 16, 2007.
The scope centers on Quantum tape library systems and related components, including the Scalar i2000, Scalar i500, SuperLoader 3, and PX502 models. Associated equipment includes tape drives (LTO3, LTO4, DLTS4), cables, magazines, barcodes, and installation services. Library configurations support capacities ranging from 100 to 3,492 slots with connectivity options including Fibre Channel, SCSI, SAS, and Storage Networking. Installation services are required for most library deployments, with costs varying by drive quantity and geographic zone. Maintenance and support services are available across multiple service levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum), along with warranty extensions and rapid exchange options.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices using prescribed forms or the state's secure response system. Samples, when required, must be furnished at no charge. All deliveries must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, with transportation charges prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The state is exempt from sales and use taxes. Award will be made to the best value responsible bidder based on quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost to the state.
The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities or technicalities, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise stated. Tie bids will be resolved by awarding to in-state bidders or manufacturers of products made in Maine, or by drawing lots if applicable. Cash discounts under 20 days will not be considered in contract awards. Failure to submit bids on three consecutive requests may result in removal from the state's bidder register.
