About this opportunity

Colquitt County School Nutrition (Georgia) is requesting sealed bids on food and paper goods for the 2026-2027 school year under IFB SY26-27, with bids due June 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. and opening June 9 at 9:00 a.m. The School Food Authority intends to award to the top two responsive and responsible vendors capable of supplying both food and paper goods.

All processed food products must comply with the Buy American Act, ensuring over 51 percent of agricultural commodities are grown in the United States. Chicken and seafood items must comply with the 2025 Appropriations Act prohibition on items grown or processed in China. All vendors must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 aggregate, provide HACCP documentation, and demonstrate compliance with federal and state food safety and civil rights standards.

The scope encompasses approximately 450+ food items and 50+ paper product line items across 13 categories: beef, chicken, fish, frozen vegetables, juice and frozen fruit, other frozen and shelf-stable proteins, pizza products, shelf-stable fruits and vegetables, breakfast and snack items, and special-diet products including gluten-free and milk alternatives. Vendors must submit pricing for both domestic and import options where applicable, with case usage estimates ranging from 5 to 15,000 cases annually by item. All items include nutritional crediting requirements for whole grain and meat/meat alternative components to support NSLP compliance. Delivery is to 13 school sites and one warehouse throughout Colquitt County.

The contract runs July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with optional extension up to six months at the same bid pricing, or renewal for up to four additional one-year terms based on vendor performance. Bid prices remain firm for the initial period and comply with an escalation/de-escalation clause allowing price adjustments after six months based on USDA or Consumer Price Index data, with increases capped at 10 percent unless market conditions warrant higher adjustments. All packing and transportation charges must be included in bids; separate fuel surcharges are prohibited. Questions are due May 22, 2026. Awards are anticipated by June 16, 2026.
