About this opportunity

The Pinellas County School District is soliciting sealed electronic bids for Swimming Pool Chemicals (RFQ #25-AM-018) to supply chemicals for five school locations, including Clearwater High School, Northeast High School, Seminole High School, and two exceptional student education centers. The procurement seeks ten line items of pool chemicals such as calcium hypochlorite, cyanuric acid, diatomaceous earth, muriatic acid, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium hypochlorite in various drum and bag sizes. Quotations are due electronically through the District's OpenGov Procurement portal by 3:00 p.m. on February 11, 2026, with an anticipated award notification by March 12, 2026. The initial contract period will run from April 5, 2026, to April 4, 2027, with potential renewal options for two additional one-year periods. Bidders must submit firm, percentage discount pricing with freight included, and pricing will remain fixed for the initial contract term. Evaluation will involve reviewing submitted documentation and pricing, with the District reserving the right to award by line item, section, or aggregate total.

The procurement does not specify specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must comply with Florida's E-Verify requirements and submit several mandatory forms, including the Prohibition Against Coercion for Labor and Services Affidavit, Sworn Statement Under Section 287.133(3)(a), Drug Free Workplace Certification, and Debarment Form AD-1048. Contractors may be subject to Level 2 background screening per the Jessica Lunsford Act if applicable. The District estimates the contract value at approximately $35,000 annually, with potential price escalation permitted at renewal periods, capped at the previous year's Consumer Price Index change for All Urban Consumers. The contract includes multiagency participation rights, allowing potential extension of contract terms to other eligible Florida governmental entities. Bidders must also maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including General Liability, Automotive Liability, and Workers' Compensation, with specific minimum coverage limits depending on project value.
