About this opportunity
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has issued a Request for Information for survey field and office software, with responses due November 19, 2026. TDOT will consider only equipment and software within the Carlson ecosystem to ensure interoperability with current field and office processes, so Carlson authorization is the central filter for prospective respondents.
The RFI covers required modules, marked with an asterisk, and optional modules that add capability. The field component is Carlson SurvPC, with TS, RTS, and GPS/GNSS operation. The office component is Carlson Office Software, spanning survey processing, GNSS post-processing, civil design, GIS, point cloud, photogrammetry, and 3D visualization. TDOT intends to competitively procure additional survey equipment and associated software for data collection, processing, and analysis.
Respondents must complete technical and cost informational forms addressing their experience as authorized Carlson resellers, bundling capabilities, pricing units and ranges, bundle pricing methodologies, and cost drivers such as module quantity and type. TDOT requests detail on custom predefined bundles, custom configurable bundles with percentage or fixed discounts based on module quantity, and alternative cost structures.
The RFI is informational only. Responding is not a prerequisite for future solicitations and creates no contract rights. Responses become state property and remain confidential until evaluation is complete. TDOT will not reimburse response costs.
