About this opportunity

Auburn University is soliciting sealed bids for one unit of sulfur carbon analyzer equipment for its College of Agriculture through a Request for Bid, with bids due and publicly opened on November 11, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. CST via conference call and the JAGGAER Sourcing Event Portal. The instrument must come from a U.S. manufacturer that provides direct sales, support, and service without third-party distribution, which is the primary eligibility filter.

The specification calls for a high-temperature combustion analyzer with infrared absorption detection, compliant with ASTM methods D-4239, D-5016, D-1552, and D-1619 and ISO 15178 and 19579. Required capabilities include macro-sample analysis, a random-access autoloader with a minimum 100-sample unattended capacity, sulfur and carbon analyses completed within two minutes, and operation on 230V, 15A power across 195 to 253 volts. The unit requires a 22-inch touchscreen, compatibility with external balances, printers, and Laboratory Information Management Systems, and software with real-time diagnostics, a 30-day storage buffer, and remote mobile viewing. A dual infrared cell detector, modular field kits, and performance packages are optional.

Bids must be F.O.B. Destination, Freight Prepaid and Allowed. Bidders must submit a completed, notarized disclosure statement, certify Alabama sales and use tax collection and remittance compliance under Section 41-4-116 of the Code of Alabama (1975) and Act No. 2006-557, and confirm they are not debarred or suspended from federal contracts. Successful bidders must provide an E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding if they maintain an Alabama office or employees, or a statement confirming no such presence. The university is committed to Small Business and Small Disadvantaged Business participation and will require SB/SDB subcontracting reporting during performance. Auburn may award in whole or in part by line item or make multiple awards.

Any resulting contract may be extended to other eligible state entities, including Auburn University at Montgomery and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Questions must be directed to Kyle Long (kdl0033@auburn.edu, +1 334-844-3633) through the sourcing event Q&A Board. A formal protest of award must be filed within five days of the notice of intent to award through the same Q&A Board.
