About this opportunity
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is soliciting bids for a street sweeping project in District 4, covering 12 counties, with a specific focus on Beltrami County and surrounding areas. The procurement is for comprehensive street sweeping services to be completed by May 16, 2025, with specific equipment requirements including a pickup-style broom, dual gutter brooms, highway road speed capability, and water spray for dust control. Bidders must provide proof of general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation insurance, with electronic invoices to be submitted to d4accountspayable.dot@state.mn.us. The solicitation is open from March 25, 2025, to April 2, 2025, with a bid submission deadline of April 2, 2025. Sweeping debris can be dumped at designated MnDOT Truck Stations, with access provided to the contractor. The project is a single-line item procurement with mobilization costs to be included in the unit price, and notably, this solicitation does not involve construction trade work, thus prevailing wage requirements do not apply.
The procurement encourages participation from diverse businesses, including small businesses, minority-owned enterprises, women-owned businesses, businesses owned by persons with substantial physical disabilities, veteran-owned businesses, and companies located in economically disadvantaged counties. While specific award values are not explicitly stated, the project appears to be a comprehensive street sweeping contract for the entire District 4 region. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no specific technological integration requirements beyond the outlined equipment specifications. The solicitation requires bidders to be registered as either a bidder or supplier to participate in the event. Contractors must have the capability to meet the technical requirements, including specialized street sweeping equipment that can operate at highway speeds and provide effective dust control. The contract emphasizes operational flexibility, with sweeping to be completed weather permitting, and provides clear guidelines for equipment, insurance, and invoicing procedures.
