About this opportunity

Rochester Community Schools is soliciting sealed bids for a construction project involving the development of a baseball path at Stoney Creek High School in Riverview City, Macomb County, Michigan, funded through the District's Bond 2015 program. The project is being managed by Construction Manager Frank Rewold and Son Inc., with architecture services provided by French Associates. Bid documents are available beginning May 17, 2018, through the Frank Rewold and Son Portal. A non-mandatory pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Stoney Creek High School Baseball Fields. Sealed bid proposals must be submitted to Jennifer Fickel, Purchasing Supervisor at Rochester Community Schools Administration Center, 501 W. University Drive, Rochester, Michigan 48307, by 2:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 31, 2018, with public bid opening occurring at the same time and date. Questions regarding the project should be directed exclusively to Estimators Mike Gagnon or Kurt Ryder at Frank Rewold and Son Inc.

All bids are subject to specific bonding and compliance requirements. A 5% bid bond is required for all bids; certified or cashier checks are acceptable for bids under $50,000, while bids exceeding $50,000 require Performance and Payment Bonds in amounts equal to the contract value, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Michigan and rated B+ or better by AM Best or listed in the Federal Register. Prevailing wage rates are not applicable as this is a non-qualified bond project. The project is not tax exempt for state sales tax and use tax; all materials and supplies incorporated into the project are subject to applicable state taxes. Each bid proposal must include a sworn and notarized disclosure statement regarding any familial relationships between the bidder and members of the Rochester Community Schools Board of Education or Superintendent, as well as a signed Iran Economic Sanctions Affidavit, with bids lacking these required documents being rejected. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or incumbent vendors are mentioned in the procurement documents.
