About this opportunity
The State of Maryland Department of General Services is soliciting bids for an Indefinite Quantity Contract to supply shelf-stable Meals-Ready-To-Eat (MREs) including breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees to the State of Maryland and its using authorities, such as Baltimore City, during emergency situations. The contract requires the selected vendors to provide delivery FOB destinations across the state. Bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience providing similar products. Bids are due by January 30, 2024, and the contract term is two years with one two-year renewal option. Pricing will be evaluated on a line-item basis per individual MRE unit, with vendors having discretion on how to structure their pricing. The Department of General Services cannot assist vendors with pricing calculations.
This solicitation does not include any Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goals or small business set-asides. There is no incumbent vendor, as this is a new contract requirement. Funding for the contract will come from state and local government budgets, but specific award values or budget ranges are not provided. The contract pricing will be subject to annual adjustments based on the USDA Consumer Price Index.
