About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather input from prospective vendors regarding the planning, coordination, and development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure throughout the state. This RFI is part of FDOT's effort to develop a Statewide EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan in response to the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program Guidance authorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The RFI seeks feedback on various factors, including vendor experience, Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) site location selection, partnerships and business models, equipment capabilities, operations, maintenance, and data sharing. Responses to the RFI are due by 5:00 PM EST on June 28, 2022, and FDOT may invite vendors to discuss their submissions in more detail. The information gathered through this RFI may be used to develop scope and solicitation documents for future procurements at FDOT's discretion, and respondents will remain eligible for any subsequent contract opportunities.
The RFI does not require pricing information or set-asides, but FDOT is particularly interested in strategies to encourage DCFC deployment in rural, underserved, and disadvantaged communities that may have lower utilization rates and return on investment. The agency is looking for innovative approaches and partnerships to make these projects more viable. The RFI does not list any incumbent vendors or current contractors, and the potential award value or budget range is not specified.
