About this opportunity
The City of St. Clair Shores in Macomb County, Michigan, is soliciting competitive bids for a new golf course street clock to be installed at the St. Clair Shores Golf Club. The procurement seeks a highly specialized 4-post clock with precise specifications, including a maximum height of 12 feet 7 inches, four LED backlit dials measuring 24 inches in diameter, and constructed with cast aluminum components. The clock must feature a standard 4-way pulse movement, permanently lubricated motor, sealed shaft bearings, and a cast aluminum gear box. Additional requirements include four custom headers and bottom panels, white acrylic dials with Lexan protective covers, a clock controller for Daylight Savings Time, and a 10-year battery backup. The bid requires a 3-year limited warranty, and all delivery, packing, and crating charges must be included in the proposal. Interested vendors must submit their bids by Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with questions accepted until Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Potential bidders can obtain specifications from www.bidnet.com and direct inquiries to Matt Crippen, Golf Course Operations Manager, at (586) 294-2000 ext. 2 or crippenm@scsmi.net.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The procurement appears open to qualified businesses capable of meeting the detailed technical specifications. While no incumbent vendor is identified, the city will evaluate proposals based on the most advantageous offer, considering both price and other factors. The contract period is set to begin upon bid award and extend through September 1, 2024, with prices to be fixed and firm during this timeframe. The city will be exempt from Federal Excise and State Sales Tax, which may provide some cost advantages for potential vendors. Delivery is restricted to general hours between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and the successful vendor must be prepared to provide a comprehensive installation of the custom street clock at the golf course. Although a specific budget range is not disclosed, vendors should be prepared to provide a comprehensive proposal that meets the detailed technical requirements outlined in the bid documentation.
