About this opportunity
The Idaho Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing, has issued a sole source authorization notice for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to procure four Mirion EcoGamma-G Environmental Monitors directly from Mirion Technologies. This procurement is being conducted under Idaho Code section 67-9221, which allows for single-source procurement when only one vendor can provide the specified equipment. The environmental monitors are specialized scientific instruments designed for radiation detection and environmental monitoring, likely intended to support the state's environmental quality and safety assessment capabilities. The procurement notice was posted on September 22, 2025, with a submission deadline of September 25, 2025, allowing interested parties only five business days to challenge the sole source determination. Vendors wishing to contest the sole source procurement must submit their challenges via email to purchasing@adm.idaho.gov within the specified timeframe.
The sole source procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types. The procurement is specifically targeted to Mirion as the sole qualified vendor for these environmental monitoring devices. No specific budget range or award value was explicitly stated in the notice. The procurement process allows for potential vendor challenges, providing a mechanism for other potential suppliers to contest the sole source determination if they believe they can meet the technical specifications. The environmental monitors will likely be integrated into existing state environmental monitoring infrastructure, potentially replacing or supplementing current radiation detection equipment. The procurement represents a targeted acquisition of specialized scientific equipment critical to the state's environmental monitoring and assessment capabilities.
