About this opportunity
The Southwest Regional Recreation Authority (SRRA) in Washington County, Virginia, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a turn-key GPS equipment procurement to support trail mapping and maintenance in Southwest Virginia. The specific procurement includes two EOS Arrow 100 GNSS/GPS Bluetooth Receiver Antennas and two newer model Apple iPads with Wi-Fi and cellular capabilities, each requiring 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, Bluetooth connectivity, rugged travel cases, and heavy-duty screen protectors. Proposals for this procurement are due by April 7th, 2024, at 5:00 PM, with SRRA reserving the right to accept or reject any submissions. Vendors must submit comprehensive bid pricing and firm qualifications, with each proposal condition considered material to the bid. The RFP indicates that technical mistakes in proposal submissions may be waived at SRRA's discretion, and vendors are expected to provide detailed equipment specifications and pricing.
The contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent organizations. However, the procurement process appears open to technology vendors with capabilities to provide the specified GPS and mobile computing equipment. Anatum GeoMobile Solutions was ultimately awarded the contract, submitting a winning bid of $9,926.00, which included all required equipment and accessories. A competing bid from Technology International was priced at $7,490.00 but did not include the full equipment package. The contract is funded through state of Virginia and local resources, with a projected delivery timeline of 1-5 business days after award. While no specific disadvantaged enterprise requirements were noted, vendors were expected to demonstrate experience in providing geospatial and mobile computing solutions for recreational and mapping applications.
