About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for specialty white pine lumber under an RFQ, with quotes due June 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. local time through the AdvantageME procurement system.

The scope covers 4/4 Premium Grade White Pine Lumber with 8–10% moisture content, planed on three sides, with widths from 6" to 10" and lengths from 6' to no longer than 10'. The contract term runs one year from approximately May 15, 2010 through May 31, 2011, with the State retaining the right to renew for two additional one-year periods with contractor consent.

The estimated yearly contract value is approximately $20,000, though actual value will reflect quantities ordered by state agencies during the contract term. Pricing must remain firm for the entire contract duration. Price increases are permitted only when supported by documented evidence of general industry changes (revised manufacturer price lists) or changes in state or federal law, and are subject to State rejection if deemed excessive. All transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor and included in the quoted price on an F.O.B. Destination basis. Cash discounts of 20 days or longer are considered in evaluation; discounts under 20 days are not.

Bidders must provide documentation on delivery times and procedures, including the number of days required from receipt of order. Vendors must indicate their willingness to extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts, either unconditionally or with specified conditions. The State accepts the State Procurement Card as payment with no surcharges allowed. The State is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes.

Questions must be submitted through the AdvantageME Question and Answer portal no later than 48 hours prior to bid closing. All questions and answers are posted on the Solicitation Details View page. Awards are made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Contact: Bambi L. Tefft, Buyer II, State of Maine Division of Purchases.
