About this opportunity
The Hanover Township Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for the Solomon Creek Stream Side Cleanup project, a comprehensive environmental maintenance initiative located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The procurement involves the removal of dead organic debris, dead wooding of living trees, and elimination of dead trees within the stream sides of Solomon Creek, specifically from the St. Mary's Way culvert extending 1,800 feet upstream. Bids will be accepted online through the PennBid Program until 12:00 pm local time on July 31, 2025, with a public bid opening and review scheduled for the commissioners' meeting on August 13, 2025. Bidders are required to submit a bid security equal to 10% of their maximum bid price, along with required forms, statements, affidavits, and certifications. The project mandates compliance with Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act 442, ensuring appropriate compensation for workers throughout the project duration. Bidding documents are available at no cost through the PennBid platform, and the contract will be awarded on a lump sum and unit price basis with potential alternate bid options.
The solicitation emphasizes equal opportunity, with the Hanover Township Board of Commissioners explicitly stating non-discrimination policies based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or familial status. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned in the documentation. A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project, indicating that potential contractors must rely on the provided documentation for project understanding. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, the comprehensive nature of the stream cleanup suggests a significant municipal infrastructure maintenance investment. The project files, including a project manual, bid tabulation, and plan set, are available as attachments totaling approximately 7MB, providing detailed specifications for interested contractors. Potential bidders should carefully review all documentation and ensure compliance with local regulations and prevailing wage requirements when preparing their submissions.
