About this opportunity

The City of Kingman, located in Mohave County, Arizona, is seeking sealed bids for Invitation for Bid (IFB) #2024-IFB-062 to procure one (1) Diesel Forklift for its Solid Waste department. The forklift must be pneumatic-tired with a lifting capacity between 8,000-10,000 lbs, featuring specific requirements including a diesel engine, 168" minimum lifting height, hydraulic power fork side shift, hydraulic power fork spread adjustment, two sets of hook-type forks (48" and 96"), air-filled pneumatic tires, and an enclosed operator cab with heating and air conditioning. Vendor selection will be based on a weighted evaluation criteria: total cost (60 points), specifications (40 points), and service (20 points). All bid submissions must be completed electronically through the OpenGov procurement portal by 3:00 pm Arizona time on February 20, 2025, with vendor questions accepted through the portal until 3:00 pm on February 10, 2025. Potential bidders are required to register for a free OpenGov account, and no mailed, faxed, hand-delivered, or emailed bids will be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject any bid not complying with solicitation procedures or when cancellation is deemed in the city's best interest.

The procurement does not specify specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. However, the City does provide a preference for local bidders, potentially favoring Kingman-based vendors when evaluating bids against non-local Arizona vendors. Bidders must maintain current federal, state, and local licenses, and those conducting business within Kingman city limits will need to obtain a business license. Insurance requirements include commercial general liability, commercial automobile liability, and workers' compensation, with the City to be named as an additional insured. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the bid documents indicate that total cost is a significant factor in vendor selection, comprising 60% of the evaluation criteria. The City requires all outstanding quantities to be received no later than June 30, 2025, suggesting a relatively near-term procurement and implementation timeline. The City is not exempt from Transaction Privilege Tax and expects bidders to include applicable taxes in their pricing proposals.
