About this opportunity
This is a sole source contract amendment with Xerox Corporation to increase the maximum spend on a contract for the maintenance and volume printing services for high-speed Xerox printers located at state facilities in Springfield and Chicago, Illinois. The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking to increase the contract value by $250,000 to cover miscalculated costs and allow for continued uninterrupted service on the critical printers through June 2024. The printers are used to generate vital reports and documents for multiple state agencies, and require a guaranteed 4-hour or less response time for repairs and maintenance. Xerox is the sole authorized provider for maintenance and repairs on these proprietary printers in order to maintain warranty coverage. DoIT has determined that Xerox is the only vendor capable of providing the required maintenance and support services, and that a competitive procurement is not feasible.
This sole source amendment does not obligate the state to future purchases from Xerox. Pricing is based on Xerox's standard maintenance fees, which have been negotiated at nearly 20% lower rates through the NASPO cooperative contract. Funding will come from state appropriated funds. The sole source hearing will be canceled unless an interested party submits written comments or requests a public hearing by March 29, 2024 at 4:00 PM. The contract amendment applies to facilities in Cook County, Sangamon County, and the City of Chicago.
