About this opportunity

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), on behalf of Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC), issued a sole source Request for Quotes (eRFQ) for the one-time purchase of four KbPort SimCart V7 ECO, Model 30 medication carts to support the Radiologic Technology and Allied Health Sciences Nursing Program's simulation-based medication administration training. The procurement seeks to enhance the program's instructional capabilities by providing high-fidelity simulation equipment that enables students to practice safe medication administration using real-world processes aligned with clinical expectations. The KbPort medication carts were selected as the sole brand option due to their unique compatibility with the program's existing simulation technology infrastructure, including seamless integration with SimEMR software and barcoding systems currently deployed across all TCSG campuses. The solicitation opened on September 2, 2025, with a due date of September 25, 2025, for qualified suppliers to submit their quotes. Technical assistance with system registration, bid event access, and bid document retrieval was available through the DOAS Customer Service Help Desk at 404-657-6000 or ProcurementHelp@doas.ga.gov, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding state holidays and closure days. No specific evaluation criteria beyond brand compatibility and system integration requirements were detailed in the procurement documents.

This procurement was structured as a sole brand acquisition with no set-aside designations or restrictions limiting eligible respondents based on disadvantaged enterprise status or organizational classification. KbPort LLC was awarded the contract as the successful offeror, establishing the incumbent vendor relationship going forward. The contract amount is fixed at $123,979.50 for the complete procurement of four medication carts, representing an estimate only as this is classified as an open agency contract structure. The award was announced through a Notice of Intent to Award on October 23, 2025, followed by a formal Notice of Award on November 3, 2025. The issuing officer for this procurement is Obia Fuller, who can be contacted at ofuller@tcsg.edu for additional information. Any protests regarding the award must be submitted electronically to doas.protests@doas.ga.gov in accordance with the Georgia Procurement Manual's supplier protest procedures.
