About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is soliciting bids on a small purchase with special conditions for well pump replacement at Kankakee River State Park, with bids due July 22, 2026.
The scope covers removal of the existing well pump system and installation of a replacement pump with system testing and commissioning to restore water supply functionality to park facilities. The contractor must meet specified technical performance requirements for pump compatibility with existing well infrastructure, conduct pressure testing and flow-rate verification, document as-built conditions, and provide operator training if required. All permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance obligations fall to the contractor. Contractor qualifications and licensing requirements apply.
Under the State Prompt Payment Act, payment is contingent on vendor compliance with contract requirements and applicable prevailing wage laws. The State will not reimburse expenses incurred prior to contract execution. Invoices for services through June 30 must be submitted by July 31. A $15 Minority Contractor Initiative fee applies if the contract value exceeds $1,000. The contract may be partially or fully funded with federal funds, with funding sources identified in the award notice.
Required insurance includes General Commercial Liability of $1 million per occurrence with a $2 million annual aggregate, Auto Liability of $1 million per occurrence, and Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by law. The State reserves the right to terminate for convenience with thirty days' notice or for cause immediately, and all performance is contingent on appropriation availability by the Illinois General Assembly.
