About this opportunity

The University of South Dakota (USD), located in Vermillion, SD, is seeking proposals for a Slate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software implementation through Request for Proposal (RFP) #USD07152024. The primary objective is to transition from the current Salesforce CRM system to Slate CRM by Technolutions, with a targeted completion date of May 1, 2025. The scope of work includes comprehensive data migration of 2-4 years of application and prospect data, system configuration, customizations, application development, security controls, integrations with the existing on-premises Banner student information system, and workflow developments for undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical school admissions processes. Vendor qualifications include demonstrated experience in higher education CRM implementations, Slate certifications, and proven ability to manage complex migration projects. The RFP requires vendors to submit detailed proposals addressing data migration strategies, process reviews, and enhanced functionality using Slate. Proposal submissions are due by August 28, 2024, with any inquiries to be emailed to chris.phillips@usd.edu by the specified deadline, using the subject line "RFP #USD07152024".

The procurement appears open to all qualified vendors without specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. USD anticipates approximately 150 Slate users and is open to a phased implementation approach if the entire project cannot be completed by the May 2025 deadline. The current technological infrastructure includes an on-premises Banner student information system, which will require careful integration with the new Slate CRM solution. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed in the provided documents, the RFP indicates USD intends to award a single contract to the most cost-effective and advantageous proposal. The selected vendor will be expected to provide a consistent project team, comprehensive documentation, and ongoing support for a 5-year period. The implementation will cover multiple application types, including undergraduate, graduate, international, and professional school applications, with an emphasis on smooth data migration, enhanced reporting capabilities, and improved marketing and communications functionality.
