About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting bids for the purchase and installation of one tilting skillet/braising pan for Long Creek Youth Development Center, with bids due May 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The procurement specifies a single Legion Model TES-2440-9 electric tilting skillet with 40-gallon capacity, self-locking worm gear tilt mechanism, adjustable thermostat, stainless steel construction, and knock-down capability rated at 15.0 kilowatts. Associated equipment and accessories include compression draw-off valve, drain with hose, care kit with cleaning tools, fill faucet with swing nozzle, pour lip strainer, adjustable flanged feet, and flat-bottom scoop. The equipment requires 208V, 3-phase, 41.6-amp electrical service. The vendor must uncrate and set the skillet in place; all freight charges must be included in bid pricing.

Tie bids will be resolved in favor of in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. The state reserves the right to award to the lowest-priced bidder meeting specifications and may make a single award or split the award based on best value determination, considering quality, conformity to specifications, purpose, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best overall value. The state is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes and expects bidders to quote accordingly. All transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified.

Vendors must submit substantive questions through the Vermont Statewide Scheduling system no later than 48 hours before the bid deadline to receive responses communicated to all bidders. Sue Garcia, Buyer II, is the sole contact for this procurement. Bids must be submitted electronically; supporting documents may be faxed or mailed prior to bid opening.
