About this opportunity

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is seeking to enter into a single-source contract for the service and maintenance of its existing Honeywell Access Control system. This is not a competitive solicitation, but rather a notice of the FSDB's intent to award a sole-source contract to Honeywell. The existing access control system is a proprietary Honeywell product, and only Honeywell technicians are certified to maintain and modify the system. The estimated value of the contract is not to exceed $8,716.55. The notice is being advertised for 15 business days, during which time other vendors who believe they can fulfill the requirements may submit information demonstrating their capability. The contract will commence upon approval by the agency. The justification for the single-source procurement is that the Honeywell access control system is proprietary, with the software and programming maintained exclusively by Honeywell. Only Honeywell technicians have the necessary training and certification to work on the system, and the current system was installed by Honeywell.

This opportunity is limited to Honeywell as the sole-source provider, as no other sources exist that can provide the required services for the FSDB's proprietary Honeywell access control system. The FSDB has not indicated any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, nor has it listed any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The FSDB has also not provided a specific budget range for this procurement.
