About this file

This document is a notice of intended single-source acquisition by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for the service of Honeywell Access Control. The FSDB is seeking to enter into a sole-source contract with Honeywell, as the existing access control system is a proprietary Honeywell product and only Honeywell technicians are certified to maintain and modify the system. The estimated value of the contract is not to exceed $8,716.55. The notice is being advertised for 15 business days, during which time other vendors who believe they can fulfill the requirements may submit information demonstrating their capability. The contract will commence upon approval by the agency.

The justification for the single-source procurement is that the Honeywell access control system is proprietary, with the software and programming maintained exclusively by Honeywell. Only Honeywell technicians have the necessary training and certification to work on the system, and the current system was installed by Honeywell. No other sources exist that can provide the required services.
