About this opportunity
The City of Tampa, Florida is requesting quotes for silica microsand used in surface water coagulation and flocculation processes under RFQ 26-P-00547, with quotes due September 6, 2026.
The procurement is for 25 tons of silica microsand with particle size specification 0.130mm to 0.150mm. The material must meet rigorous potable-water standards: specific gravity greater than 2.5, acid solubility less than 5%, uniformity coefficient equal to or less than 1.75, and NSF Certification Standards 60 and 61. Bidders must be manufacturers or authorized distributors; the manufacturer must hold NSF Certification, with production at an NSF-certified facility. Each delivery requires a one-pound representative sample and a Material Compliance Certificate of Analysis confirming sieve analysis, effective size, and uniformity coefficient. All testing and quality control must conform to AWWA and ASTM specifications. The material must be visibly free of clay, dust, micaceous matter, and organic matter and must not introduce extraneous materials that violate Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Act regulations.
Delivery shall be FOB Destination within the timeframe specified in the technical specifications, with all shipping and handling charges included in the quoted price. Quote prices must remain valid for a minimum of 60 days. The City reserves the right to award by division, line item, or aggregate total, and to increase or decrease quantities without penalty. Award will be made by City of Tampa Purchase Order or, for purchases under $2,000, by Purchasing Card. Payment is made approximately 30 days after receipt, acceptance, and invoicing, subject to the Florida Prompt Payment Act. Awardees must submit proof of insurance prior to award and comply with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's E-Verify System. All vendors must comply with federal and state law, City ordinances, and the City's Ethics Code. The project contact is Debbie Lambert at debbie.lambert@tampagov.net.
