About this opportunity
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Purchasing Services is soliciting bids for a comprehensive sign package for the University of Wisconsin Press located at 728 State Street in Madison, Wisconsin. The procurement involves the supply and installation of 100 modular signage products, specifically 91 Type M.5 signs (4 inches high by 8.5 inches wide) and 9 Type M.19 signs (6 inches high by 8.5 inches wide). The signs will be constructed of anodized aluminum with dark grey inserts, featuring tactile and Braille elements and white text. Bidders must demonstrate three years of experience in signage services and provide three client references from institutional or corporate entities. The University requires a minimum five-year warranty on all items and parts, and all contractor employees must undergo criminal background checks. Written questions were due by December 2, 2019, with bid submissions required by December 9, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The University reserves the right to conduct oral presentations, product demonstrations, and site visits, with all deliveries and installations to be completed no later than January 10, 2020.
The procurement includes set-aside provisions for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Woman-Owned Businesses (WBE), and Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (DVB), which may be awarded contracts up to 5 percent higher than the lowest bid. While the University prefers 2/90 Sign Systems, equivalent products may be considered with University approval. Bid prices and terms will remain firm for sixty days following the bid opening. Pricing must be submitted on a net unit basis in U.S. dollars, with all costs for packing, freight, insurance, setup, instruction, and operation manuals included in the FOB Destination and Installed price. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder or the lowest net lot total deemed in the University's best interest. Bidders must comply with Wisconsin Statutes regarding nondiscrimination, debarment certification, and the boycott of Israel provision under 2017 Wisconsin Executive Order 261. Payment terms are set at Net 30 days following acceptance and testing of installed items.
