About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is issuing an Invitation to Bid (DOT-ITB-26-9080-JM) for the procurement of three 20-foot by 8-foot 6-inch shipping containers designed for roadway use. The containers must feature marine-grade plywood floors, full side openings, forklift pockets, and lashing rings rated for 6,000 pounds at a 45-degree pull angle, and must comply with ISO 1496-1 standards and include passive ventilation ports with door openings of at least 170 degrees. All prospective bidders must register in Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system and submit sealed bids electronically to CO.Purch@dot.state.fl.us by May 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM EST, with a public bid opening scheduled for the same date at 10:00 AM EST. Technical questions must be submitted by May 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST, with no deadline specified for administrative questions. Delivered goods must arrive at 2612 Springhill Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32305 by July 15, 2026, and all pricing shall be firm, net, delivered prices with F.O.B. destination, including all shipping and freight costs, subject to a one percent MyFloridaMarketplace transaction fee. The intended award decision will be posted on May 25-26, 2026, and all containers require a 90-day warranty against defective materials and workmanship. Bidders must complete the Bid Sheet, In-State Preference Form, Vendor Certification Regarding Scrutinized Companies Lists, and E-Verify Form as part of their submission.
The solicitation provides a five percent price preference to Florida-based vendors whose principal place of business is located in Florida, and out-of-state bidders must submit a written opinion from an attorney licensed in their home state regarding any price preferences offered in that state. Out-of-state corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships must be authorized to do business in Florida through the Florida Department of State, and any vendors providing services must be properly licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation if their business requires such licensure. All bidders are subject to communication restrictions prohibiting contact with state employees or officers regarding the solicitation between its release and 72 hours following the agency's posting of the notice of intended award, excluding weekends and state holidays, with violations subject to response rejection. The solicitation is subject to Florida Department of Financial Services W-9 requirements and compliance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes regarding public records. The specific award value or budget range for this procurement is not disclosed in the available solicitation documents.
