About this opportunity

The County of Santa Clara Procurement Department is soliciting electronic bids for the Sheriff's Office Richey Training Center Campus Surveillance project, a public works contract involving the installation of an electronic security system located at 155 W Hedding St in San Jose, California. The project requires a contractor with a C-7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor's license to provide comprehensive security system installation services, including all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies. Bids must be submitted electronically through Biddingo by November 13, 2025, prior to 2:00 PM, with the bid identified as ITB-PRC-FY26-0490. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or cash/certified check equivalent to at least 10% of the total bid price, payable to "The County of Santa Clara." The original bid bond must be physically delivered or mailed to the Procurement Department at 130 W. Tasman Drive, with specific instructions provided for drop-off and mailing procedures. This project is classified as a prevailing wage public work, which means contractors must comply with standard wage requirements for public construction projects.

While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the procurement documents, the contract appears to be open to qualified contractors meeting the specified licensing requirements. The project involves replacing or upgrading campus surveillance systems, suggesting potential integration with existing security infrastructure at the Richey Training Center. The procurement does not indicate specific restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises or small businesses. The bid documents do not provide a specific contract value or budget range, though the requirement for a bid bond suggests the project has a substantial monetary scope. Contractors interested in the project must demonstrate technical capability through possession of a valid C-7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor's license and the ability to comprehensively implement the electronic security system as specified in the bid documents. Successful bidders will be responsible for a complete turnkey installation that meets the county's security system requirements.
