Contractors must demonstrate at least seven years of commercial ceiling installation experience. All tiles must meet Class A fire ratings per ASTM E84 and include 24" x 48" x 5/8" square-edge tiles for kitchen areas and mixed sizes (24" x 24" and 24" x 48" in square and beveled-edge configurations) for office areas, installed around existing fire sprinklers, smoke detectors, surveillance cameras, light fixtures, and HVAC diffusers. The scope encompasses kitchen, active jail corridors, common inmate areas, and administrative offices with ceiling heights from 8 feet to 30 feet.
The project budget is $325,000. Pricing is structured as a base bid plus optional additive alternates evaluated on a cost-per-square-foot basis without exceeding the budget cap. Prices must be firm and include all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, delivery (F.O.B. destination), and site cleanup. Contractors must provide a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid amount and a contract bond equal to 100% of the contract price. Retainage is applied at up to 5% of estimates until 50% completion, thereafter payment in full. Work is scheduled for both normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and after-hours periods. All contractor employees must pass background checks by the Walworth County Sheriff's Office prior to facility access. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026, with project completion targeted for January 29, 2027. Substitution and question submissions are due June 18 at 3:00 p.m. Contract award is anticipated by July 20, 2026.
