About this opportunity
The Town of Groton has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB 23-11) for the Shennecossett Golf Course Fence Replacement project located in New London County, Connecticut. The procurement seeks a contractor to remove and replace approximately 1,300 feet of chain-link fencing along Eastern Point Road and 400 feet of wooden picket fencing surrounding a tunnel on both sides of Eastern Point Road. Specific requirements include painting or powder coating the chain-link fence in green while maintaining the existing gauge thickness, and painting the wooden picket fencing white. The bid solicitation was released on December 9, 2022, with a bid submission deadline of January 20, 2023, at 2:30 PM EST. A vendor question and answer period is open from December 9, 2022, to January 13, 2023, during which potential bidders can seek clarification about the project specifications. The primary point of contact for this procurement is Karl Klein from the Town of Groton, who can be reached at 860-441-6681 or kklein@groton-ct.gov. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be specified by the vendor.
The ITB does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to the solicitation. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology requiring integration. The solicitation is open to all vendors without preference or priority given to any specific business type or classification. No estimated total value or budget range is provided in the available documents, which leaves the potential contract value undefined. The Town of Groton will likely award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest price, though this is not explicitly stated in the procurement documents. The lack of specific financial details means potential bidders will need to carefully review the project requirements and develop their own cost estimates for the fence replacement work.
