About this opportunity
The State of Maine court system is requesting bids for supply, delivery, and installation of steel shelving units across six judicial locations—Fort Kent District Court, Waterville Superior Court, Hancock County Courthouse, Lincoln District Court, and two locations at the Clerk of the Law Court in Portland—with bids due March 28, 2011.
The scope encompasses heavy-duty 22-gauge painted steel shelving in beige and grey, with specifications varying by location. Box-style units range from 42 inches wide by 30–32 inches deep by 76–87 inches high with 6–8 openings at 11-inch clear height; end-tab file units span 36–42 inches wide by 12–16 inches deep by 76–88 inches high with 6–8 openings at 9-inch clear height. All shelving features single-rivet support, heavy-duty shelf reinforcement, and minimum 1-inch thick shelves. One location includes a mobile high-density shelving system approximately 170 inches by 126 inches with modular decking and mechanical assist handles. Pricing must include all products, freight, inside delivery, and installation labor. Work scope includes furniture relocation, file cabinet movement, and box repositioning as needed at each location.
The State of Maine reserves the right to accept all or some items in any purchase order award. In the event of tie bids, preference will be given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. All bids must be submitted in sealed form to the Division of Purchases in Room 119, State House Station, Augusta, Maine, prior to the March 28 opening time. Amendments may be withdrawn by written or telegraphic notice submitted prior to contract award. The state is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes. No contract may be assigned, sublet, or transferred without written consent from the Director of Purchases.
