About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting bids for heavy-duty steel shelving units across six judicial locations statewide, with bids due May 2, 2011. A preference for in-state bidders and commodities produced or manufactured in Maine applies under state procurement rules.
The scope encompasses procurement, freight, inside delivery, and installation of two-unit shelving systems for boxes, single-row and multi-row configurations for end-tab files, and mobile high-density shelving systems with modular decking at Fort Kent District Court, Waterville Courthouse, Hancock County Courthouse Superior Court, Lincoln District Court, Clerk of the Law Court in Portland, and the Clerk's Office in Portland. Vendors must provide manufacturer information, model numbers, style/product numbers, and technical drawings with their submissions. Work includes product supply and installation labor, with some locations requiring file-cabinet and box relocation. The State reserves the right to accept all or some items in the purchase order award.
Pricing must be submitted as separate unit prices for each item at each location, with a grand total for the complete bid package. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, are prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes and should not be quoted such charges. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in determining the low bidder; discounts under 20 days will not be considered.
Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on lowest cost considering best value to the State, with evaluation factors including quality, conformity to specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Sealed bids must reach the Division of Purchases office in Augusta, Maine prior to the opening date and time. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10 percent.
