About this opportunity
The state of Georgia's General Contract Information (GCI) is seeking to establish an Open Agency Contract for sewing machines targeted at garment plant locations, with a solicitation posting date of April 15, 2025, and a proposal due date of April 24, 2025. The procurement involves acquiring various sewing machines with accompanying sewing tables, which require comprehensive delivery, setup, installation, and software update services. Vendors must include all associated fees in their bid pricing and are mandated to conduct a minimum of two training sessions at different locations, where they will demonstrate machine operation and preventive maintenance procedures. The contract specifications indicate that estimated quantities are variable and will be purchased on an as-needed basis, with machine types and quantities differing across site locations. Successful vendors must guarantee delivery within six months of purchase order receipt, with deliveries made F.O.B. destination. Key evaluation criteria appear to focus on vendors' ability to meet comprehensive installation, training, and technical support requirements.
While the provided documentation does not explicitly detail set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the procurement appears open to qualified sewing machine suppliers capable of meeting complex technical and logistical specifications. No incumbent vendors are mentioned, and no specific budget range is provided in the solicitation. The contract seems structured as an open, flexible procurement allowing multiple vendors to potentially provide sewing machine solutions across various Georgia garment plant locations. Vendors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in industrial sewing machine technologies, comprehensive training capabilities, and robust logistical support infrastructure. The contract's open-ended nature suggests potential ongoing procurement opportunities for vendors who can successfully meet the state's comprehensive technical and service requirements.
