About this opportunity
The Village of Hinsdale, Illinois is soliciting sealed unit-price bids for sewer cleaning, root cutting, and televising, with proposals due November 5, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. No bid is considered from contractors on the Illinois Department of Labor's debarred contractors list, and all work is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
The contractor furnishes all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment, and materials to clean approximately 80,000 linear feet of sanitary, storm, and combination sewers up to 30 inches in diameter. The scope also includes root cutting on approximately 33,519 linear feet of storm or sanitary sewers and televising approximately 3,490 linear feet of sanitary or storm sewers. The Village designates work locations throughout the contract term within Hinsdale, which spans DuPage and Cook counties. Bidders price each of the three work categories per linear foot.
Bid security must equal at least 10 percent of the price proposal, delivered as a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond from a licensed Illinois surety rated A with Class X or better in Best's Insurance Guide. The successful bidder furnishes performance and payment bonds, each in the penal sum of the full contract price, along with certificates of insurance.
Contractors pay laborers, workers, and mechanics not less than the current Illinois Department of Labor prevailing wage rates for the applicable county. The contract price includes prevailing wages and fringe benefits, any mid-term increases to those rates, permits and licenses, and all federal, state, and local taxes except sales and use taxes. Final payment is made within 60 days of owner approval of the final pay request, and the contractor maintains a one-year warranty on all work after final payment.
The bid package was published October 26, 2026, and the contract term and completion date appear in Attachment A. The Village Board's first reading on contract approval is tentatively scheduled for November 17, 2026.
