About this opportunity

Burke County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in Georgia is seeking competitive bids for seven auto-start generators to be installed at county fire stations, with the primary objective of ensuring power continuity during electrical outages. The procurement requires comprehensive installation services, including generator supply, slab construction, auto-transfer switch installation, and all associated materials and labor. Specific generator requirements include 30kw output, liquid cooling, 100-gallon fuel tank, corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure, and compliance with certifications such as UL 2200, EPA emissions standards, and UL 142 & ULC S601 for double-wall fuel tanks. Bidders must conduct site visits to determine 3-phase power requirements and include a projected completion date with their submission. The solicitation follows a sealed bid process, with proposals due by 4:00 PM on April 7th, 2025, at the Burke County Commissioners office. Bid opening is scheduled for April 10th, with contract award anticipated on April 15th, 2025 during the Commission Meeting.

The invitation to bid explicitly states that it is not intended to exclude any manufacturer, dealer, or vendor, suggesting an open and competitive procurement process with no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidder qualifications. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure requirements. While the exact budget range is not specified, the comprehensive nature of the project—including seven generators, site-specific installations, transfer switches, and associated labor—suggests a potentially significant contract value. Bidders are required to complete a detailed pricing form that breaks down costs for generators, slabs, materials, labor, and miscellaneous expenses, with a requirement to provide a clear total bid amount. The Burke County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, maintaining flexibility in the selection process. Interested vendors must carefully review the attached bid forms and submit a signed bidder's agreement acknowledging all terms and conditions.
