About this opportunity

The state and local contract opportunity, posted by Leon County and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), involves a single-source procurement for a security and alarm system installation at the Northeast Region Ocala Office Complex. The project encompasses a comprehensive security infrastructure upgrade across multiple buildings, including the Ocala Main Office, Hangar Building, Withlacoochee Building, Annex Building, and a fenced area. The system requires installation of door swipes, gates, controllers, and monitoring capabilities that must integrate seamlessly with the existing Georgia-Florida Burglar Alarm Company system used at FWC's Tallahassee Headquarters. Key deliverables include a fully functional security badge and alarm system that provides consistent access control and monitoring across FWC facilities. The procurement is scheduled from May 8, 2025, to May 30, 2025, with a final submission deadline of May 30, 2025, at 10:30 AM ET. Prospective vendors must provide written documentation demonstrating their ability to supply the specified commodities and meet the contract requirements, in compliance with Chapter 287, F.S., and other applicable regulations.

The procurement appears to be a sole-source acquisition, with Georgia-Florida Burglar Alarm Company identified as the exclusive vendor due to the proprietary nature of their existing security infrastructure. The contract is specifically designed to maintain connectivity with other FWC facilities and ensure consistent security systems. No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the documentation. The total estimated contract value is $58,049.00, with a breakdown of $41,193.00 for product costs and $16,856.00 for installation. The one-year contract requires the selected vendor to demonstrate comprehensive capabilities, integrity, and reliability to perform the contract requirements. The procurement process emphasizes the need for a vendor that can provide continual and connective service across multiple FWC facilities, with the system's integration being a critical factor in vendor selection.
